Our commitment

We believe that digital accessibility is inseparable from equitable care. Our website is designed and maintained with the goal of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the technical standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services for Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review the site for conformance and welcome feedback from users of assistive technology.

Measures taken to support accessibility

• Semantic HTML structure (landmarks, headings in order, lists)
• Keyboard-operable navigation with visible focus indicators
• Descriptive alternative text on informative images; decorative imagery marked as presentational
• Color contrast tested against WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds (4.5:1 body text / 3:1 large text)
• Labeled form controls and interactive elements (ARIA where native semantics are insufficient)
• Resilience to browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content
• Respect for reduced-motion preferences via prefers-reduced-motion
• Skip-to-content link for screen-reader and keyboard users

Limitations we’re working on

While we strive for continuous conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA, some third-party content (embedded videos, external scheduling tools, or partner logos) may not yet fully meet accessibility standards. When we identify or receive a report of such a limitation, we prioritize a remediation plan.

We do not use third-party accessibility overlay or widget products, as these have been shown to interfere with assistive technology and do not produce accessible outcomes for real users.

Access at our clinical sites

Both of our suites at 2112 F Street NW are step-free, ADA-compliant, and accessible via building elevator. Language-access services, auxiliary aids, and reasonable accommodations are available on request at no cost to the patient.
